Mr. David P. Brown was appointed to the Ross Board of Education in October 2006. He first won election to the board in November 2007 anwas re-elected on November 8, 2011. His current term began Jan. 1, 2012 and runs through Dec. 31, 2015.
David has been a deputy auditor for the Butler County Auditor's Office since July 2006. Prior to joining the county he worked for the Hamilton JournalNews newspaper where he served as Editorial Page. Editor for four years. In all, David has more than 15 years of daily newspaper experience as a photographer, reporter and editor in the wide-ranging fields of sports, news and opinion.
During his first five years on the board, Mr. Brown served two years as president, two years as vice president and four years as the board's legislative liaison. Originally from Northern California, David earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from East Central Oklahoma State
University in 1987. Before moving to Southwest Ohio in 1997, David and his family resided in Oklahoma.
David and his wife Karen have two children who graduated from Ross Schools, Shannon (Class of 2006) and James (Class of 2007). He is a member of the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene where he has served as Church Board Secretary, Sunday School Superintendent and an adult Sunday School teacher. Mr. Brown is also an elected member of the Butler County Republican Party Central Committee.
