Mission of the Ross Local School District Board of Education
The primary responsibility of the School Board is to establish purposes, programs and procedures which produce the educational achievement needed by all of Ross' students. The Board must accomplish this expectation while also managing the fiscal resources available to the District. The Board must fulfill these responsibilities by functioning primarily as a legislative body to formulate and adopt policy, by selecting an executive officer to implement policy and by evaluating district results; further, it must carry out its functions openly, while seeking the involvement and contributions of the public, students and staff in its decision-making processes.
School Board MembersMr. David P. Brown was appointed to the Ross Board of Education in October 2006. He first won election to the board in November 2007 and was re-elected on November 8, 2011. His current term began Jan. 1, 2012 and runs through Dec. 31, 2015. David has been a deputy auditor for the Butler County Auditor's Office since July 2006. Prior to joining the county, he worked for the Hamilton JournalNews where he served as Editorial Page Editor for four years. In all, David has more than fifteen years of daily newspaper experience as a photographer, reporter and editor in the wide-ranging fields of sports, news and opinion. During his first five years on the board, Mr. Brown served two years as president, two years as vice president and four years as the board's legislative liaison. Originally from Northern California, David earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from East Central Oklahoma State University in 1987. Before moving to Southwest Ohio in 1997, David and his family resided in Oklahoma. David and his wife Karen have two children who graduated from Ross Schools, Shannon (Class of 2006) and James (Class of 2007). He is a member of the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene where he has served as Church Board Secretary, Sunday School Superintendent and an adult Sunday School teacher. Mr. Steve Stitsinger (513) 867-8456 Mr. Steve Stitsinger was appointed to the Ross Board of Education in July 18, 2007. His current term began January 1, 2012.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University and his law degree from the University of Dayton. He is currently an attorney.
Steve is married with four children.

Mr. Edward Bosse was first elected to the Ross School Board in November, 1981. His current term began January 1, 2010.
Ed recently retired from sales/marketing management at Cincinnati Incorporated after a 45-year career. He is an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Ed is married to Bev and they have three sons, all of whom graduated from Ross Schools. He has been a resident of the Ross community since 1977.
(513) 868-7094 Mrs. Glenda Holt was first elected to the Ross School Board on November 8, 2005, and she began her first term January 1, 2006. Her current term began on January 1, 2010. She is a 1977 graduate of Garfield Sr. High School located in Hamilton, Ohio.
Glenda has been the Office Manager for Kelley & Carpenter since 1988. As a school board member, she has served as the Ross representative for the Butler Tech Board of Education since 2008. She is currently serving as the Vice President of the Butler Tech Board as well as serving on the Butler Tech Board Development Committee.
She is married to Ron. They have two children, Jake and Nate.
Mr. John McCandless
John McCandless was first elected to the School Board in November 2009. His current term began in January of 2012. He is the Police Chief for Miami University, has three Ross High School graduates and a student at Ross Middle School. As a School Board member, Mr. McCandless serves as the liaison to the Bus Driver Council. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ferris State University and a Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University. Mr. McCandless is also an adjunct professor at Miami University.
