Acceleration Guidelines

In accordance with Ohio Department of Education Administrative Code 3301-35-06, Ross Local Schools provides opportunity for acceleration for students who are highly advanced.  The purpose of accelerating a student would be to make sure the student’s instructional needs are being met if grade level material is inappropriate for that student (they are not being challenged enough in the classroom).  Referrals for acceleration should be filled out and given to the building principal.  Students will be assessed using a variety of assessments that measure student achievement. Additionally, a team will be put together to meet and determine the most appropriate learning environment for the student.
