At approximately 11:30 am on Friday, 9/14, the Ross Schools District Office Building, Ross Middle School and Ross High School were put on lock down due to gun fire being reported on adjoining property behind the District Office Building. The Ross Township Police and Butler County Sheriff's Office discovered several individuals target shooting on the property behind the building. One bullet came through a window in the District Office Building, ricocheted off a wall and landed on a secretary's desk. The lockdown lasted approximately 20 minutes while the police agencies investigated and apprehended the individuals responsible.
All staff members are to be commended for taking prompt and appropriate action in this situation.
