Ross Local School District is proud to announce that two exceptional Ross High School seniors, Ethan DeMoss and Ben Schuler, have been named Semifinalists in the prestigious 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. This remarkable achievement places them among the top 1% of more than 1.3 million students who entered the program by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) last fall.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is a nationwide competition that recognizes and honors students for their academic excellence and potential for success in college. The pool of semifinalists includes the highest-scoring entrants from each state, with the number of semifinalists determined proportionally to each state’s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors. Being selected as a semifinalist is a tremendous honor, signifying not only outstanding academic achievement but also the dedication and hard work that goes into reaching this level of excellence.
Ross High School Principal Brian Martin expressed his pride in Ethan and Ben, stating, “We are incredibly proud of Ethan and Ben for their hard work, determination, and academic achievements. Being recognized as National Merit Semifinalists is a reflection of their commitment to excellence, and we are excited to see what the future holds for both of them. They have set an outstanding example for their peers, and we couldn’t be prouder to have them represent Ross High School.”
At Ross Local School District, we believe in fostering an environment where students are encouraged to reach their highest potential, and Ethan and Ben’s accomplishments are a testament to that commitment. Their success in the National Merit Scholarship Program is a source of great pride for our entire school community.
We congratulate Ethan and Ben on their extraordinary achievements and wish them the best of luck as they move forward in the competition. Their hard work, dedication, and passion for learning truly embody the spirit of excellence at Ross High School.
