In accordance with Ohio Department of Education Administrative Code 3301-35-06, Ross Local Schools provides opportunities for acceleration for students who meet the evaluation criteria. The purpose of accelerating a student is to ensure the student’s instructional needs are being met at an appropriate level of challenge. Acceleration options include whole grade acceleration, single subject acceleration, and/or early graduation. Referrals/Requests for acceleration must be completed using the appropriate form and submitted to the building principal. Students may be assessed using a variety of assessments that measure cognitive ability, student achievement, and/or acceleration potential. Additionally, an acceleration committee will be put together to review the evaluation and determine the most appropriate learning environment for the student.
