Board of Education

The Mission of the Ross Local School District Board of Education

The primary responsibility of the School Board is to establish purposes, programs, and procedures which produce the educational achievement needed by all of Ross' students. The Board must accomplish this expectation while also managing the fiscal resources available to the District. The Board must fulfill these responsibilities by functioning primarily as a legislative body to formulate and adopt policy, by selecting an executive officer to implement policy, and by evaluating district results; further, it must carry out its functions openly, while seeking the involvement and contributions of the public, students and staff in its decision-making processes.

In addition to our regular meetings, the Board of Education also operates several committees which help guide the work of our district. The committee's names are listed below:

Board Members

Mr. Greg Young

Greg Young was born and raised in Ross. He graduated from Ross High School and earned a B.A. from Centre College and a M.A. from Eastern Kentucky University. He began his career in education at Boyle County High School where he was a social studies teacher and coach. After nine years he came back to Ohio and worked at Harrison High School in the same role for four years. Mr. Young came to Ross High School in 1988 to serve as the assistant principal. After several years he was promoted to principal of RHS. Following ten years at the high school, Greg became the Ross Assistant Superintendent and then the Superintendent of Schools from 2009 - 2016.

Greg lives in Ross with his wife Kim. Their two sons, Steven and Christopher, are both Ross High School graduates, are married, and along with a grandson, continue to live in the Cincinnati area.

Mrs. Amy Webb

Mrs. Amy Webb was elected to the Ross School Board in November, 2017, with her first term beginning January 1, 2018.

Mrs. Webb has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Baldwin-Wallace University, a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati and completed a Superintendent program at Miami University. She has been a Social Studies teacher, vice principal and is currently an administrator for Butler Tech.

Mrs. Webb has been a member of the Ross community for over five years. She is married to Paul Webb and they have three daughters, two of which attend school in the district.

Mr. Eric Beckman

Mr. Eric R. Beckman was elected to the Ross School Board in November 2023, with his first term beginning January 1, 2024.

Mr. Beckman graduated from Ross High Shool in 2002 and went on to Miami University where he earned an Associates Degree in Accounting. After Miami, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Wilmington College.

Mr. Beckman is currently employed within the insurance industry as a Risk Advisor with Adkisson Insurance Agency. He has been in various underwriting and sales roles since 2013 within the industry.

Mr. Beckman is married to his wife Jennifer and they have two daughters, Brooklyn and Emmalyn, who attend Ross Schools. They moved back to Ross in 2016 so their daughters could be a part of the Ross School District.

Mr. Brent Guenther

Mr. Keith Klinefelter

Mr. Keith Klinefelter was elected to the Ross Local Board of Education in November 2021. This is his second time being elected to the Ross Board of Education.

Keith earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati. He taught at Taylor High School for thirteen years. Keith served as the assistant principal of Finneytown High School (2 yrs.), principal of Finneytown High School (4 yrs.), principal of Ross High School (6 yrs.), and principal of William Henry Harrison High School (5 yrs.). After a short retirement, he returned to Ross High School as a guidance counselor for two years. He is currently an adjunct professor at Bowling Green State University in the College of Teaching and Learning.

Keith is married to Julie who was a teacher at Morgan Elementary and Ross Middle School for 30 years. He has a daughter, Tara, who is a 2014 Ross graduate.
