Back to School Sales Tax Holiday Set for Early August

For the third straight year, the state of Ohio is offering a three day sales tax holiday to help residents save money on back-to-school purchases. The holiday runs August 4 through August 6. The following items will be exempt from sales and use tax; clothing priced at $75 per item or less; school supplies priced at $20 per item or less; and school instructional materials priced at $20 per item or less. The holiday also applies to mail, telephone and online purchases.
