District Receives Recycling Grant

posted Mar 26, 2012, 10:50 AM by Greg Young
The Ross Local School District was recently awarded a $1,800 grant from the Butler County Recycling and Solid Waste District. The grant funds will be used to cover the cost of recycling dumpsters and containers for 2012. While the district receives funds for its recycled paper and aluminum, it has to pay for the recycling of cardboard, steel cans, plastic, fluorescent tubes, and batteries. "Our school board feels that the district should set an example for our students in the area of recycling," stated Superintendent Greg Young. "This grant will cover 75% of the cost to recycle items for which we do not receive funding. We are very pleased that the Butler County Recycling and Solid Waste District has been able to help us with this cost."
