Ross Staff Safety Training

posted Mar 3, 2017, 7:27 AM by Scott Gates
During the month of March, Ross Local School District staff members will be participating in state mandated safety trainings.  These trainings focus on the ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) framework for violent individuals or an active shooter.  Each building will complete three 40 minute training sessions before or after school presented by our SRO, Officer Renee Lutterbie.  Within these trainings, staff will participate in scenarios that mimic the need to utilize one or more of the ALICE components.  During the scenarios, Officer Lutterbie will be shooting blanks so staff can experience the sound a gun will make in their school. Students will be notified of the training dates and those students currently in the building during the trainings will not be in the vicinity of the training.  Please have a discussion about these trainings with your child as they may be in the school during a training and hear the sounds. The safety of Ross students, teachers and volunteers is paramount to us and we believe these trainings will help us prevent and prepare if an issue were to occur. If you have any questions regarding the trainings, please contact Officer Lutterbie at 513-863-1252.
