Technology
The Ross Rams Technology Team is responsible
for providing a positive, consistent and appropriate
technology experience for all students and staff. This
includes operational support via district infrastructure
and hardware as well as instructional support via
educational tools and resources.
The Ross Local School District is excited to provide students in grades K-12 with anywhere/anytime technology to transform their learning experiences. Each student in grades 6-12 will be given a Chromebook laptop, power adapter and carrying case. Each student in grades K-5 will be issued a Chromebook to use in class. The Ross Local School District is committed to providing students with equitable access to digital opportunities that will prepare them for life after high school. Through the use of technology the district wants to encourage each student to foster problem-solving skills, responsible decision-making skills, communication, collaboration and student-centered learning.
All students are expected to follow the Ross Local School District 1:1 Policy Handbook
RLSD students are provided with a Google account. Student Google accounts are utilized to access many platforms and programs for daily education, such as Schoology, Google Classroom, and Google Drive. These accounts are intended to be used for educational purposes only.
Google Classroom is the learning management system used in RLSD for grades K-3. It provides a simple, kid-friendly space where young learners can access assignments, classroom materials, and announcements from their teachers. With Google Classroom, students can complete and submit work digitally, practice essential skills, and stay organized with the help of easy-to-navigate tools designed for early learners.
Schoology is the learning management system used in RLSD for grades 4-12. Schoology connects students and staff in one easy-to-use platform. It serves as a digital hub where teachers post assignments, share classroom materials, communicate with students, and provide feedback. Students use Schoology to view their coursework, submit assignments, take quizzes, collaborate with classmates, and track their academic progress. Staff rely on the platform to streamline instruction, organize resources, and enhance communication across the school community.
